SUBJECT: NOTICE OF INSPECTION; UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK SYSTEM LOCATED
AT CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL 495, 125 SOUTH 6TH STREET, COALINGA
Dear Ms. Mejia:
This letter is to inform you that State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) staff will
perform an inspection of the Underground Storage Tank UST at your facility on June 13, 2019, at
approximately 12:30 pm.
The State Water Board has the authority to inspect UST systems and records, pursuant to Health and
Safety Codes, chapter 6.7, section 25289, which states:
"...any duly authorized representative of the local agency, the regional board, or the
board has the authority specified in Section 25185 to enter and inspect, with respect to
any place where underground tank systems are located, or in which records relevant to
operation of an underground tank system are kept,..."
State Water Board staff will need access to all components of the UST system at your facility,
including all sumps, tank, under-dispenser containment structures, piping systems, and backup
generators, if applicable. State Water Board staff will need to review all documents required by law to
be maintained at the facility. Please designate an employee and/or contractor to grant access to the
facility and all components of the UST system and ensure that the records are available.
